How to Add (or Remove) the Beehive Font

Before adding the font, make a backup copy of the Deseret DeskTop diskette. Store the original in a safe place and use the backup to install the Beehive Font.

Now register with the Wanderer Press.

By sending us your registration information, you will receive upgrade notices, new product information and technical support.

IMPORTANT: The Beehive Font is a standard TrueType font. If you already know how to add and remove TrueType fonts with Windows, don't bother reading the info below!

To Add the Beehive Font

1. Insert the Deseret DeskTop disk in the floppy drive.

2. In the Control Panel window, choose the Fonts icon. The fonts already installed are listed in the Installed Fonts box.

3. Choose the Add button.

4. In the Add Fonts dialog box, select the floppy drive where the Deseret DeskTop disk is located (usually the a: or b: drive). Next, select the font called Beehive.

5. If you are low on disk space and want to use the fonts directly from the Deseret DeskTop disk, without copying the font files to the Windows directory, clear the Copy Fonts To Windows Directory check box.

6. Choose the OK button.

7. In the Fonts dialog box, choose the Close button.

For help with the Fonts and Add Font Files dialog boxes, choose the Help button or press F1 while using the dialog boxes.

To Remove The Beehive Font

If you are not using the Beehive Font, you can remove it to free some memory for your applications. Removing a font deletes the font from the Installed Fonts list, but does not delete the font file from your hard disk, unless you specify otherwise.

1. In the Control Panel window, choose the Fonts icon.

2. Select the font that you want to remove (Beehive).

3. Choose the Remove button. A message appears, asking you to confirm your decision to remove the font.

4. If you want to delete the font file from the disk in addition to removing it from memory, select the Delete Font File From Disk check box.

5. Choose the Yes button, or, if you want to remove several fonts at the same time, choose the Yes To All button.

6. Choose the Close button.

For help with the Fonts dialog box, choose the Help button or press F1 while using the dialog box.

YOU MUST ENABLE TRUETYPE FONTS TO USE THE BEEHIVE FONT.

To set TrueType options

1. In the Control Panel window, choose the Fonts icon.

2. Choose the TrueType button.

3. Select the options you want to use.

4. Choose the OK button. If you change the Enable TrueType Fonts option, the change does not take effect until you restart Windows. A message appears, asking whether you want to restart Windows.

5. To restart Windows, choose the Restart Now button.

For help with the TrueType dialog box, choose the Help button or press F1 while using the dialog box.
